I collect any legit quality badge with an emphasis on California and Nevada. I am always happy to hear from other collectors.

I was just browsing new photos in the gallery and noticed the ones you just posted. They look awesome - well done! Thanks for sharing and welcome to the board.

Thank you. I have about 800+ badges of which about 350 are Californias. I am a quiet collector in that I do not display the collection nor do I want a high profile. I try to collect quality and unique items for my personal enjoyment. It is not a business for me and notwithstanding the proliferation of self-designated "experts" and unscrupulous "collectors" I continue to try to find items to add to the collection. It is a shame that so many fakes are being manufactured and sold as issue. I will be happy to post many more pictures if you like. Thanks again for the kind comments.

I collect badges for many years and the hobby has change alot, more and more the hobby is becoming like baseball cards "show me the money".and forget about the historical values. and all collectors know who the bad ones are. we all must also thank the ones who kept the history of law enforcement alive.

Well said. The hobby is becoming more of a money market than anything. It's all about finding and selling the big city badges for top dollar. The historic significants and sentimental value of alot of the badges out there has been placed on the back burner.

I just found this and being a new collector myself, I feel that many people, especially non-collectors on ebay just want to make a dollar. I am still in college and this hobby is getting WAY to expensive for me to keep going...I have a pretty big collection, and I have it all posted online, and I am also going to get involved with a new thing, the Police Patch Encyclopedia. It is still in the works, but hopefully it will bring new light into the hobby. Check out my collection and I am always willing to help a fellow collector, I just wish I could get a hold of the harder to get patches without spending 100's of dollars!

I only wish I found out about this a few years ago, but I have plenty of time to get even better at it...Justins Patch Collecting
