News Large Collection (over 100 badges) for sale.
Posted by singforsupper on Monday, November 12, 2007 (13:35:02) (461 reads)

My brother Dale Gray (“ttdg” was his screen name), passed away a few months ago and left me and my mom a rather large badge collection of over 100 badges similar to the ones you have for sale.

He collected thse for about 10-15 years. He estimated it’s value at about $15,000 if the badges were sold separately over a period of several years. I however do not have such knowledge or interest in these items and do not wish to deal with them for that long.

I wish to sell the entire collection to someone for less than that of course but still for a reasonable amount. I live in New York state but and the badges are in Tennessee. It is illegal to have them in New York State so dealing with them only when in Tennessee. I will be there in a week and will catalog each one with a description and photo.

If you are in a position to buy and are interested in the collection please let me know. There is one person interested in making a cash offer Thanksgiving week but if enough people are genuinely interested I can hold off on selling them for a short while to allow other bids to come in.

Please email me or phone me and I will gladly send you a catalog of the badges including pictures.

News Orval Davis Badge Collection For Sale
Posted by justy311 on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 (13:46:15) (365 reads)

I am just informing everyone that Orval Davis' badge collection is posted online and badges are for sale. It is truly an amazing collection and even if you do not plan on buying any, it is a great collection of some very hard to get badges. Take a look at the website: www.raymondsherrard.com and browse around, I was so impressed with it I felt that I needed to tell everyone about it. How he is selling them is all described on the website. Enjoy looking!

News Badge collection to be auctioned May 5th, 2007
Posted by andrewt on Thursday, April 12, 2007 (20:03:44) (433 reads)

Once again, Manion’s International Auction House is bringing their one of a kind auction services to the West Coast Historical Military Collector’s Show in Pomona, California, on May 5th. Manion’s conducts live auctions each year at select militaria shows across the country. This year, in Pomona, they’re teaming up with Ken Porter Auctions to bring more items to the auction block.

“We’re looking forward to having both of these auction companies at the show,” said event organizer Bob Chatt. “Their presence adds an extra element that makes this show even bigger and better.”

The auction will feature quality militaria and collectibles, including items from the estate of noted California police badge collector James McDonald. Auction items will include excellent British military medals and orders, numerous U.S. and foreign police badges, as well as assorted military related items from many different time periods and countries.

“This is an excellent opportunity for both the beginner and avid collector,” said Chatt. “Items will be available in a variety of price ranges, and will cater to many different aspects of military collecting.”

In addition to the live auction, the West Coast Historical Military Collector’s show will feature hundreds of exhibitor tables with militaria items for sale from over 100 dealers from across the country.

“We enjoy attending this West Coast event,” said company representative John Conway. “We appreciate the opportunity to introduce our auction services to new customers and touch base with our old ones as well.”

Manion’s International Auction House has been brokering the sale of militaria and collectibles since 1970. Through their pioneering Internet auction website, hundreds of consigned items are listed daily, with auctions closing every evening at 8:30 P.M. CST. For more information about Manion’s auction services, and items to be featured in the upcoming Live Auction, visit: www.manions.com.
